Flip Flop
by Universal Materials
VRB006 - released 14 May 2007
This EP started around the "This is the Macrophage" track - a toe in the water to see how the pairing worked. Inspired by this, Dan and Howard went on to complete the remainder of the tracks. The fave here is Time for Howard and Sister City for Dan, the pair both being confused but drawn to the prog funk of Mastodon. "We like to image Mastodon as being played by fat guys with big beards" says Howard, "Maybe ZZ Top" replies Dan. "Although they weren't fat, they just had big beards". Dusty and Billy's stature undecided, we'll leave the conversation there - enjoy the songs.
