The Kirbi is Denis A. Fomenko, born in 1978 in Barnaul (Russian Federation, Altai region). Denis has no formal music education except for some brief lessons of playing the bass guitar and superficial study of the stave.
Denis began his musical career in 1993 in a duo, with Igor Smolin, that performed mostly instrumental music in the death-doom style. Since 1997 he has been working as an electronic musician, first performing as part of a group called Kirbi with Sergey Antoshkin and Slava Kostrikin. Denis also began some solo projects around this time and since 2006 has been working alone exclusively.
